Organization

 

1) Scan Station

Scan Station is an automation system that generates images from documents that are made during the bank task, makes index, extracts meta-data information, and transmits it to image server. It provides the following functions:

 

   ¨ç Creating image data through scanning
   ¨è Automatic classification through document recognition
   ¨é Indexing/ automatic conversion of meta data through character recognition (OCR/ICR/IMR/BCR)
   ¨ê Image compression & transmission to the server

 

 

 

 

 

 

System Function

 

1) Document Scanning

This is the stage of scanning and imaging, using Inzi iForm, of the documents that are made in the course of work. Major functions of the equipment are Setting Scanner Environment and Scanning Option, and Imaging through scanning. To maximize work efficiency, setting scan option is made just one time at the initial setting, and subsequently the stored information is used.  

 

2) Image Pre-processing

Using Inzi iForm QCPack, Image Pre-processing contains Deskewing Document, Removing  Margin, Removing Noise, Canceling Blank Image, etc. Generally, scanned image contains slanted document, noise, margin, etc, all of which reduce the image recognition rate greatly.

 

  • Deskewing image : This function straightens slanted scan image automatically.
  • Removing surrounding margins : Automatically remove the surrounding margins for documents, smaller than the set value.
  • Removing noise : Automatically remove Dot Noise and Punch Hole Noise.
  • Removing blank image : Automatically remove the blank image of the reverse side of a document in case of double-side scanning.

 

3) Document Form Recognition & Automatic Classification

When scanning many documents at a time using Inzi iForm Wizard and Inzi iForm Analyzer, it automatically classifies the documents. This increases the work efficiency at branches

 

  • Types of scanning
    - Individual document scanning : It scans individual documents, and is used for an urgent document.
    - Document batch scanning : It is used for scanning many documents at a time
  • Document recognition
    - It distinguishes documents by comparing the characteristics of a registered document form with the scanned image.
    It increases the reliability and accuracy in document distinction using Barcode and ECC when  dealing with voluminous documents.
  • Automatic document classification in batch scanning
    - It places the cover page at the front.
    - It automatically classifies as one unit from one cover page to the next cover page.

 

4) Character Recognition

It heightens accuracy and reduces input time by automatically extracting index information and meta data from the document using Inzi iForm Reco.

 

  • Extraction and compensation of recognition area : It extracts exact recognition area by calculating the position change of image based on recorded document form information and automatically removes lines and figures existing in the background.
  • Recognition : Automatically extracts meta data using OCR, ICR, IMR, BCR

Things to be considered about the reader in system operation

  • If the safety and reliability of recognition engine have been proved in diverse industrial settings,
  • If the recognition of handwriting is suitable for Koran hand-written style,
  • If it recognizes diverse characters and languages,
  • If it supports with a reader of high function and high reliability for low definition documents,
  • If it support supreme accuracy and reliability by using multi-recognizer,
  • If it has professional recognition company and personnel in its back,
  • If the provider has original technology and has potential to improve.

 

5) Correction and Verification of Recognition Outcome

Using Inzi iForm Verifier, designed in accordance with human engineering and through gradual verification with user interface, drastically reduces the correction time after the recognition.

 

  • 1st Step Verification : Verify the outcome by the date.
    - Verify recognition outcome at a time by the level.
    - Verify at a time the outcome of low reliability
  • 2nd Step Verification : Verify the outcome by the item.
    - Express partial image and outcome by the item.

6) Image Compression & Transmission

 

  • Image Compression : Compress the image to minimize network load and storage space
    - JBIG2 : High-performance and lossless compression in accordance with international standards.
    - JPEG2000 : High-performance compression of international standards about gray/colored document.
  • Image Transmission
    - Minding network load and security, transmit information with socket communication (TCP/IP) by the packet unit.
    - Differentiation of transmission according to the real transmission time
            ¤ Urgent Transmission : Transmit immediately in case of urgent document.
            ¤ Batch Transmission : Gather the related documents and transmit at a time.
            ¤ Transmission Reservation : Transmission is made at an appointed time.
    - Transmission Route & Server Connection Method: Agent method

 

  1. Transmit image data & meta data material to W/F-server-designated directory.
  2. Agent of W/F certifies the material transmission
  3. Agent stores meta data in the data server
  4. Agent stores image data in the image server
  5. Agent, after data storage, launch W/F process
    - Keeping image after transmission
      Store image at the hard disk of scan station for a designated time
      Automatically remove the image after the designated time
